André Broos

André was born in the south of the Netherlands, but has lived in Amsterdam since the age of 18. He studied French in Amsterdam and Paris, has taught French and Dutch to adults and has worked as interpreter/translator at the French Embassy. André’s first contact with massage was via Touch Amsterdam. Thereafter he trained in foot reflexology and gained his diplomas in reflexology and classical massage (NESPG) via the Leffelaar Institute. He also trained in Reiki, and gives individual therapy and courses in this Japanese natural healing method. He lives and works in the south of Amsterdam, where small-scale courses in English can be arranged.

Amoy Chang

Amoy was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, and has lived in Amsterdam since 1983. She worked for many years as manager in her husband’s firm until becoming the mother of triplets in 1990 (a daughter and two sons). In 2000 she commenced freelance work with KLM at Schiphol Airport. At present she is working as a chair-masseur (on-site masseur) in various firms and teaches the beginners’ course (m/f) in classical massage for Touch.

Amoy’s massage career began in 2005 with Touch’s massage and Shiatsu courses. Since then she has followed various courses and has gained diplomas in, amongst other things, (sport) massage and connective tissue massage (Leffelaar, Amsterdam) and Medical Shiatsu Therapist (European Shiatsu Academy). She is also a foot reflexologist, Sensi therapist, Holistic Pulser and Reiki Master.

Stefan Duteweert

Stefan grew up near the town of Deventer, which is now his home. His massage career began with a Touch Amsterdam course, after which he gained his diploma in sports massage. After 15 years as a mortgage and insurance advisor, Stefan decided late 2008 to make his hobby his profession. He now owns Massagepraktijk & Healing Deventer, offering various forms of massage and stress relief. He still works for Touch Amsterdam and is able to offer individual beginners’ courses the whole year round: Touch’s 'Touch Direct' courses. These can also be given in English.

Gerald Mettam

Gaining various teaching diplomas in his native country England and in the Netherlands, most of Gerald's working life was spent as an editor with a science publisher in Amsterdam. He has massaged all his adult life, but in 1987 gained his diploma and began developing Touch Amsterdam together with study colleague Gerrit Siersema. He later founded Touch Natuur, for massage following naturist principles. (This practice, a not-for-profit foundation, has recently closed down, after 20 excellent years, due to the retirement of the standing committee members, for whom no replacements could be found.) Since then he has run the practices and has developed the beginners' course. His massage practice for individuals is in Almere, a half-hour train journey from Amsterdam.

Gabriëlle Min

At the age of 20 Gabriëlle followed a 2-year course in relaxation massage, and met her partner, Lida, during the course. In 1988 she gained her sports massage diploma. Later she followed courses in various other massage forms. She works in psychiatric nursing. Her two sons form an important part of her life, along with health matters. Her practice is now in Almere-Buiten, not too far from Amsterdam.

Lida Min

Massage has played an important role in Lida's life since 1983. In the 1980's she qualified in relaxation massage, sports massage and shiatsu. She has worked as masseuse in a fitness centre and a beauty parlour. Besides teaching for Touch in the early 1990's, she also developed, together with her partner Gabriëlle, a massage course for ladies. She is interested in healthy cooking and travel. Her massage practice is in Almere-Buiten, not too far from Amsterdam.

Gerard Moorman

Gaining his Master's degree in theology, Gerard worked in the USA and the Netherlands with refugees and other underprivileged people. He now works for a missionary organization in Den Bosch. He began his career in classical massage with Touch Amsterdam and is now a qualified sports masseur. He works on the follow-up courses for Touch. His practice is in South-East Amsterdam, convenient for one of the metro lines.

Gerrit Siersema

Growing up in the north of the Netherlands, Gerrit exchanged a technical training for a diploma course in alternative healing, which provided his first contact with massage. Meeting Gerald during their diploma course, he developed Touch together with Gerald from 1987 to 1989 and has worked with the practices ever since. He also works part-time for the Dutch post-office and runs a small organic market garden.

Rolf Wegman

Rolf was born in Amsterdam and grew up in nearby Uithoorn. After a psychology study, he changed tack and has worked for many years in IT. For a better balance between brain and hands, he began his study of massage with Touch Amsterdam in 1999. He later followed the one-year diploma course in massage and has also studied Avatar and Reiki. His heart lies in Shiatsu, however, and after a one-year elementary course, he embarked on a 5-year university programme to become a Shiatsu therapist, which he has now completed. He runs a shared practice in Hilversum. He offers only Shiatsu, no classical massage.
